“All happy families are alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.” — Tolstoy, Anna Karenina

Contemporary research in neuroscience has powerfully corroborated both the opening line of Tolstoy's famous novel and the importance of traditional skills and capacities such as mindfulness and awareness in shaping the emotional tone of families and groups.

Why is this?

The answer lies in the three R's: resonance, regulation, revision. These terms describe how our emotional state affects other people in the immediate present, during an interaction, and over time. Anger generates anger, pride generates pride, love generates love and understanding generates understanding.

Which way do you want to go in your family?

In this workshop, you will learn:

  • how to cultivate mindfulness and awareness
  • how to apply it in conversations, interaction and other daily situations
  • what resonance is and how emotional energy propagates in families and groups
  • what regulation is and how it naturally leads to understanding and empathy
  • what revision means and how it points a way out of problematic family dynamics
